KART RACER ON PC / RELEASED

Beach Buggy Racing is the original game in Vector Unit's series, and on Windows it is a free download from the Microsoft Store with in-app purchases. Its requirements are modest: the store asks for Windows 10 or later, 1 GB of memory and DirectX 10, with builds for both x64 and Arm64 PCs.
There are six game modes and more than 25 power-ups, such as Fireball, Oil Slick and Dodgeball Frenzy. You collect and upgrade cars, from dune buggies to monster trucks, and recruit drivers whose special powers include teleportation, fire trails and confusion spells. Steering works with a gamepad, a keyboard, tilt or touch, depending on your device.
The catch for groups is split-screen. The store listing says racing with up to four players on one screen requires an in-app purchase. Later updates added computer drivers to split-screen races and, in 2024, two more cars sold as in-app purchases. No online racing is listed.
It is not on Steam, so it has no Steam Deck rating. Do not confuse it with the paid Beach Buggy Racing 2: Island Adventure on Steam, which supports eight players on one PC, or with the free-to-play Beach Buggy Racing 2, which Vector Unit lists only for mobile app stores.
Choose it for a family racer on a modest laptop or tablet, and decide whether the split-screen unlock is worth paying for before you plan a race night.
